Piloto Português subiu ao Top 20 do Ranking Rally 2
No dia de ontem o piloto Bruno Santos, natural de Torres Vedras, destacou-se na quinta etapa da edição de 2024 do Dakar, que ligou Al-Hofuf a Shubaytah. Aos comandos de uma robusta Husqvarna, Beuno atravessou as desafiantes dunas do Rub’ al-Khālī, também conhecido como “Empty Quarter“, o maior deserto de areia do mundo.
Nesta etapa, que foi composta por 118km, o piloto português completou o percurso em 1h42m32s, onde conquistou a 9ª posição entre os competidores da categoria Rally 2 e a 23ª posição na classificação geral. Este bom resultado elevou-o ao 20º lugar na categoria Rally 2, subindo finalmente ao top 20 do ranking da mesma.
O piloto de Torres Vedras sobe também na classificação geral, figurando agora no 36º posto e mantém o 4º lugar entre os “Rookies” ( pilotos estreantes no Dakar).
“Foi um dia longo e frio. Chegámos hoje ao Empty Quarter, o maior deserto de areia do mundo, num dia pontuado com muitas dunas e areia. Amanhã na sexta etapa vamos cumprir a especial de 48 horas, uma jornada que estamos todos bastante ansiosos de realizar pois vai ser um verdadeiro desafio ficar à noite no deserto isolados de tudo. Hoje foi um dia muito bom. Rolei bastante bem, mas cometi um erro e entrei por antecipação num ponto onde não devia e por este motivo devo sofrer uma penalização o que é uma pena. Mas, faz parte da corrida e ainda há muito Dakar pela frente”, revelou Bruno Santos.
A sexta etapa do Rali Dakar 2024 será disputada hoje, contará com um setor seletivo com 584 km cronometrados e com o novo desafio “48h Crono”.
